Celia Purcell Contemporary has promoted artists since 1996. We like striking paintings, prints and sculpture, and are always interested in good draughtsmanship and a strong sense of colour. We enjoy discovering new talent, especially women artists and, over the last couple of years, have included jewellery, glass, ceramics and, more recently, driftwood pieces.

We began with an exhibition of Nigerian paintingsand have exhibited at venues such as ‘The Art on Paper Fair’ at the RCA, ‘The Affordable Art Fair’ in Battersea Park, ‘The Chelsea Art Fair’, St John’s Smith Square, The Troubadour, Earls Court and at ‘Sue’s’ in Mayfair.

Our prices range from £75 to £5,000. We advise purchasers on a one to one basis in our informal home gallery setting, or at our exhibition previews which have more of a party atmosphere.

Jonathan is 12 and dancing is in his genes, though little does he know it! The only boy in his ballet class and stocky, he is lucky to secure a part in the town’s Christmas Pantomime.

Jonathan is thrust into theatrical life before he can blink and there is no support from his father, who suddenly disappears. A family mystery needs solving and everything else starts to go wrong. The male soloist has an accident just before the opening night. Can Jonathan fit the bill?

Before running her contemporary art gallery, Celia Purcell trained in ballet, turning later to contemporary dance. She has taught widely – In London, Tehran and Calgary, Canada. She is a published poet and Jonathan's Leap is her first novel.
