ABOUT US

Celia Purcell Contemporary began exhibiting in 1996 at Gallery Forty-Seven opposite the British Museum, with a show of Nigerian paintings by Sally Ekpenyong. It has exhibited at the Art on Paper Fair at the RCA, at the Affordable Art Fair in Battersea, the Chelsea Art Fair, St John's, Smith Square, The Troubadour, Earls Court and at 'Suze, in Mayfair.

We try to have a sensible price range, from £75 to £5000 for sculpture, pictures and prints. We operate from a home gallery base as an agent/dealer in 20th century works. The gallery emphasis is on traditionally trained artists and on skillful use of colour.

Since 2001 we have been based in Kilburn, with its cultural diversity. The advantages of being here include the additional space and a lovely garden. We advise purchasers on a personal basis, which is easier done in our informal setting.

Over the last eighteen months, we have exhibited Ted Dick’s jazz paintings, shown at the Chelsea Art Fair and held a retrospective of the noted poet/artist, Michael Horovitz – in addition to our own shows.
