ABOUT US
Celia Purcell Contemporary specialises in promoting contemporary artists, a substantial number of whom are women. The gallery looks for quality work by artists and sculptors at competitive prices. We are interested in promoting good drawing and plenty of colour, and are always on the look-out for undiscovered talent.

Celia Purcell Contemporary began exhibiting in 1996 at Gallery Forty-Seven opposite the British Museum, with a show of Nigerian paintings by Sally Ekpenyong. It has exhibited at the Art on Paper Fair at the RCA, at the Affordable Art Fair in Battersea, the Chelsea Art Fair, St John's, Smith Square, The Troubadour, Earls Court and at 'Suze, in Mayfair.

Our prices range from £75 to £5,000. We operate from a home gallery with its lovely garden base in Kilburn as an agent/dealer in 20th and 21st century works. We advise purchasers on a personal basis, which is easier done in our informal setting.

Previous exhibitions include Edward Dicks, the celebrated composer and painter, whose portraits of jazz musicians and night club scenes are keenly collected; and the jazzy abstract works of Michael Horovitz, the noted performance poet and artist.
